Park Enforcement Officer

The Park Enforcement Officer is responsible for maintaining safety and order within public parks and recreational areas. This role involves patrolling park grounds, enforcing park rules and regulations, assisting visitors, and ensuring the overall security and cleanliness of the park. The officer must have a Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrolling and Monitoring
• Regularly patrol park grounds to monitor activities and ensure compliance with park rules and regulations.
• Inspect facilities, playgrounds, and other park amenities to ensure they are safe and in good condition.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department for prompt resolution.
• Enforcement of Rules and Regulations
• Enforce park rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors.
• Address violations and disturbances calmly and professionally, issuing warnings or citations as necessary.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement when needed for serious incidents or emergencies.
• Visitor Assistance
• Provide information and assistance to park visitors regarding park facilities, rules, and activities.
• Respond to visitor inquiries and complaints, ensuring they are addressed promptly and effectively.
• Offer first aid or emergency assistance to visitors when necessary.
• Documentation and Reporting
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and enforcement actions.
• Prepare detailed reports on incidents, accidents, and any enforcement actions taken.
• Assist in gathering data and statistics to improve park management and safety.
• Public Education and Outreach
• Educate park visitors about the importance of following park rules and preserving natural resources.
• Conduct outreach activities and participate in community events to promote park safety and awareness.
• Distribute educational materials and resources to visitors as needed.
• Team Collaboration
• Work closely with other park staff, including maintenance crews and administrative personnel, to ensure efficient park operations.
• Participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on park policies and procedures.
• Support and assist new team members by providing guidance and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Education:
• Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or equivalent.
• Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in a related field is preferred.
• Experience:
• Previous experience in a similar role or in law enforcement, security, or public service is an advantage.
• Skills:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
• Good observational and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures.
• Proficiency in using standard office software and reporting tools.

Pay: ₦40,000.00 - ₦45,000.00 per month
