Core Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management:
  • Developing and managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Monitoring and controlling project costs to ensure profitability.
  • Preparing and managing cash flow projections.
  • Handling invoicing and ensuring timely payment collection.
  • Preparing and managing capital and operational budgets.
  • Contract Management:
  • Managing all contractual aspects of projects, from pre-construction to final handover including post handover financial claims such as defect liability period.
  • Reviewing and interpreting contract documents.
  • Negotiating and managing subcontracts.
  • Identifying and managing contractual risks.
  • Handling contract variations and claims.
  • Procurement:
  • Leading the MEP procurement process, including supplier selection and negotiation.
  • Ensuring that all goods and services are procured at the best value.
  • Ensuring cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
  • Drafting and managing subcontract agreements.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating commercial risks such as documenting delays from Clients, main contractors and other project stakeholder
  • Implementing risk management strategies such as flagging issues that may attract penalties/LAD, abortive works.
  • Vetting and escalation of excessive materials usage and wastages in relation to the contract bill of quantities.
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Serving as the primary commercial point of contact between us and our clients.
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and managing expectations.
  • Negotiating with clients representatives.
  • Reporting:
  • Preparing and presenting regular financial and commercial reports to senior management.
  • Providing accurate financial forecasting and analysis.
  • Custodian of all contract documents.
  • Preparing monthly financial status of project sites to the senior management for consideration
  • Team Leadership:
  • Leading and managing the commercial department of the company.
  • Providing guidance and support to other quantity surveyors in the team
  • Ensuring the development of team members.
  • Legal and Compliance:
  • Ensuring that all commercial activities comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
  • Procures all statutory documents relevant to each project such as APB, APG, PB and CAR

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelors Degree: A bachelors degree in Quantity surveying is a minimum requirement.
  • Relevant Professional Certifications: Certifications related to project management, contract management and NIQS, RQS specific industry is a condition.

Professional Experience:

  • Proven track record with minimum seven (7) commercial management, sales, business development, or related areas.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and management.
  • Familiarity with financial analysis and budgeting.
  • Experience in risk management and compliance.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and market trends.
  • Experience with client relationship management.
