Junior Accountant

• Minimum Qualification :

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The Junior Accountant will assist with maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to build a strong foundation in accounting and finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and invoices.
• Record daily financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain and update accounting records and files.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Help prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Perform administrative duties such as filing, document management, and database maintenance.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and company accounting policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data when needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field .
• 0-2 years of accounting or finance experience (internships and NYSC experience acceptable).
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting .
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite , particularly Excel ; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) is an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Good organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
