Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Services Manager with specialized expertise in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) to lead our technical services, project execution, and operations teams. This role is key to ensuring the smooth operation and successful execution of projects, while maintaining high standards of safety and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive technical knowledge of E&I systems, and a dedication to driving continuous improvement and excellence in all aspects of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of electrical and instrumentation technicians, engineers, and support staff.
- Ensure that the team is adequately trained on the latest E&I technologies, safety protocols, and operational procedures.
- Monitor team performance, set individual goals, and ensure professional development opportunities.
- Manage resource allocation, work schedules, and ensure operational needs are met efficiently.
2. Electrical and Instrumentation Systems Management:
- Oversee the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems used in industrial processes or facilities.
- Ensure all electrical and instrumentation systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for electrical and instrumentation systems to avoid downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting complex E&I issues and oversee the resolution of these problems in a timely manner.
3. Project Management:
- Manage technical service projects related to electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring on-time delivery, within budget, and according to quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, engineering, procurement) to support new installation projects, upgrades, or expansions.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on system design, specification, and installation processes.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure that all projects are executed with a focus on safety and compliance.
4. Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all E&I activities adhere to safety regulations and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
- Continuously monitor the performance of electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Identify hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks associated with electrical and instrumentation systems.
5. Continuous Improvement and Cost Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and reliability of electrical and instrumentation systems through innovative solutions and technologies.
- Drive cost-effective strategies for the maintenance and optimization of systems, reducing downtime and enhancing system reliability.
- Oversee energy efficiency initiatives, recommending upgrades or changes to reduce energy consumption where possible.
6. Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers related to electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Ensure that third-party contractors meet performance expectations and comply with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, production, and engineering teams, to support seamless integration of E&I systems.
7. Reporting and Documentation:
- Provide regular reports on team performance, system uptime, issue resolution, and compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation, including system manuals, drawings, schematics, and maintenance records.
- Document lessons learned from maintenance or project activities to improve future practices and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
- A Masters degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CEng, or similar) would be a plus.
Experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation systems, preferably in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Extensive experience with electrical maintenance, instrumentation systems, PLCs, DCS systems, SCADA, and industrial automation.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, control systems, and automation technologies.
- Experience in designing, installing, and maintaining E&I systems in an industrial environment.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic and testing tools for E&I troubleshooting.
Leadership:
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical teams. o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Project Management:
- Strong project management skills, including experience with planning, budgeting, and executing E&I-related projects.
- Familiarity with project management software and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
Safety:
- In-depth understanding of electrical safety standards, industry regulations, and best practices in E&I maintenance.
- Certification in safety programs or relevant safety training is a plus.
- Problem-Solving: o Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and instrumentation issues efficiently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₦500,000.00 - ₦800,000.00 per month
