Role Description

The Treasury Manager will manage the organizations financial activities and ensure that its cash flow is adequate to allow it to operate effectively. Day-to-day tasks include cash management, managing banking relationships, investment planning, and risk management. The role will also involve forecasting, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor daily cash positions and forecast short-term cash needs.

• Implement strategies to maximize cash efficiency and minimize idle balances.

• Coordinate banking relationships and manage bank accounts.

• Negotiate and manage debt agreements, including loans and credit facilities.

• Identify and assess financial risks, including foreign exchange and interest rate risk.

• Stay informed about market trends and regulatory changes affecting the treasury function.

• Prepare and present regular reports on cash flow, liquidity, and treasury activities.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

• Establish and maintain robust internal controls related to treasury operations.

• Record and manage financial transactions, including payments and receipts.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.

• Collaborate with leadership to develop budgets and financial forecasts.

• Monitor actual performance against budgeted figures.

• Prepare financial documents and records for internal and external audits.

Experience and knowledge

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CFA, ICAN or ACCA certification is preferred.

• Advanced degree (Masters or MBA) in Finance or Accounting will be an added advantage.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial leadership roles, preferably in fintech or financial services.

• Experience in managing financial operations for international payments companies.

• Strong financial planning and analysis skills.

• Knowledge of international accounting standards.

• Experience in fundraising and capital management.

• Excellent understanding of regulatory compliance.

• Strategic thinking with a focus on financial sustainability.

• Ability to navigate complex financial landscapes.

• Excellent negotiation, drafting, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
