About the Role

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Food Safety Officer to oversee and maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene within our kitchen. This role is responsible for ensuring that all food preparation, storage, and service meet local regulations and international best practices. The Food Safety Officer works closely with both the kitchen and service teams to ensure compliance, training, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

● Monitor food preparation, handling, and storage to ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards.

● Implement and maintain food safety systems such as the HACCP ( Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point).

● Conduct regular inspections of kitchen areas, equipment, and staff practices.

● Train and guide staff on food safety, personal hygiene, and proper handling procedures.

● Ensure accurate labelling, dating, and rotation of food stock.

● Monitor cleaning schedules and pest control measures.

● Investigate food safety incidents, take corrective actions, and report findings to management.

● Stay updated with local health regulations and ensure the restaurant meets all compliance requirements.

● Keep detailed records of food safety checks, audits, and staff training.

Requirements

● Proven experience in food safety, hygiene, or a similar role (hospitality or food industry preferred).

● Knowledge of HACCP, food handling regulations, and hygiene standards.

● Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

● Good communication and training skills.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

● Certification in food safety/hygiene is an advantage.
