Apply now and lets build a brighter future together!PURPOSE:The incumbent will maintain and operate power systems at the terminal in accordance with APM Terminal procedures. This includes traditional power connections, as well as UPS, inverter, and solar power systems.RESPONSIBILITIES:The main responsibilities of a Powerhouse Electrician are as follows:
- Comply with all APMTAL policies, safety requirements and carry out any allocated task.
- Manage and maintain connections to UPS, inverter, and solar power sources.
- Provide power monitoring and switching for public supply and generators.
- Report immediately any malfunction noticed during their duty shift, including issues with power systems.
- Ensure safety, first to yourself and other workers in the area, perform Job Hazard Analysis and take all necessary safety precautions.
- Maintain and operate a synchronized 11kv power system that includes public supply, gas engine power, and diesel engine power.
- Maintain and operate switch gear panels.
- Maintain industrial UPSs for terminal servers and office backups.
- Maintain the underground 11kv power cable network and lighting masts
- OND/ HND/BSC Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in maintaining UPS, inverters, and power systems.
- Knowledge of power monitoring and switching for public supply and generators.
- Should have a high-quality focus and knowledge of electrical safety standards.
- Should have knowledge of international electrical standards.
- Requires the ability to keep the work area organized, neat, and efficiently planned.
