Civil Engineer

The Resident Civil Engineer will oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring that civil engineering projects are executed according to specifications, schedule, and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise all civil engineering works at the construction site.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, specifications, and local regulations.
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Conduct regular site inspections and prepare progress reports.
• Review and certify contractors work and quantities for payment.
• Ensure implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices.
• Attend and lead technical meetings, site coordination meetings, and inspections.
• Provide technical support and advice to both contractors and project management.
Ensure proper documentation of changes, incidents, and project progress.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• A Masters degree or postgraduate certification (desirable but not mandatory).
• Registered with a recognized engineering body (e.g., COREN, NSE, etc.).
• Minimum of 1-3 years experience in site supervision or construction project management.
• Proven experience in infrastructure, buildings, roads, bridges, or related projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering standards and practices.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project, and other relevant software.
• Familiar with construction materials, methods, and environmental impact considerations.
• Knowledge of QA/QC procedures, site safety management, and construction documentation.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead teams and manage conflict.
• Willingness to be stationed at the project site full-time.
