The construction project manager is responsible for overseeing and delivering large-scale construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strategic planning, coordination with diverse teams, and a focus on safety efficiency to realize innovation and sustainability.

Job Description/Requirements Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Develop detailed project plans, scope, schedules, and resource allocations, applying rigorous scientific and managerial principles.
  • Coordinate and liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track.
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and environmental regulations are strictly followed, fostering a culture of safety consciousness.
  • Manage procurement processes, contractor selection, and contract negotiations with an analytical approach.
    • Apply innovative problem-solving techniques to overcome project challenges, optimizing efficiencies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in managing large-scale construction projects.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is mandatory.
  • Membership of CENG (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria) is required.
  • Demonstrable leadership, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving acumen.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Measurable KPIs:

  • Project delivery within the approved budget and schedule (95% on-time, 98% within budget).
  • Safety record: Maintain zero recordable incidents per project.
  • Client satisfaction score: Achieve at least 4.5 out of 5 post-project review.
  • Quality standards compliance: 100% adherence to project specifications and standards.
    • Efficiency metrics: Variance in resource utilization not exceeding 5%.
