Job Summary

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the overall financial health of the construction company, including financial planning, analysis, reporting, and managing financial risks, with a focus on the unique financial aspects of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the companys growth and profitability.

• Oversee project costing, monitoring, and reporting to ensure profitability of construction projects.

• Manage cash flow and working capital effectively.

• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support management decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and relevant tax regulations in Nigeria.

• Liaise with auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.

• Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls.

• Manage and mentor the finance team.

• Provide financial expertise for tenders and contracts.

• Monitor and manage financial risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

• A Masters degree in Finance or

• An MBA is an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive managerial experience in finance.

• Must have experience working with one of the "Big 4" consulting firms (PwC, Deloitte, EY, or KPMG).

• Experience in the construction industry is highly desirable.

Certifications

• Must be a Chartered Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) OR

• Hold an ACCA membership OR

• Hold a CFA Certification.

Skills

• Strong financial modeling and analysis skills.

• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.

• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.

• Strong leadership and team management abilities

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Sound understanding of the financial intricacies of construction projects.
