Lab Scientist

• Minimum Qualification :

The Laboratory Scientist is responsible for conducting various laboratory tests and

analyses to support the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. They ensure

accurate results, maintain lab equipment, adhere to safety protocols, and collaborate

with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Testing & Analysis* ï‚·

Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, including hematology,

microbiology, biochemistry, and molecular biology. ï‚·

Prepare, process, and analyze biological samples (e.g., blood, urine, tissue

samples) using various laboratory equipment. ï‚·

Interpret and record test results, ensuring accuracy and reliability. ï‚·

Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and laboratory guidelines to

maintain quality control.

Equipment Management & Maintenance* ï‚·

Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure optimal

performance. ï‚·

Perform regular checks and calibration of equipment to ensure accuracy and

reliability of test results. ï‚·

Report any malfunctions or issues with equipment to the supervisor or technical

support team.

Quality Control & Compliance* ï‚·

Adhere to laboratory safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and health

regulations. ï‚·

Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of biological samples and

hazardous materials. ï‚·

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of tests, results, and laboratory

activities. ï‚·

Participate in quality assurance programs to ensure high standards of testing

and result reporting.

Collaboration & Reporting* ï‚·

Work with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide

diagnostic information and support treatment planning. ï‚·

Communicate test results and findings clearly to medical staff. ï‚·

Assist in training and supervising junior laboratory staff and interns.

Qualifications & Requirements: ï‚·

Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field from an

accredited institution. ï‚·

Certification or license to practice as a Laboratory Scientist (if applicable). ï‚·

5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting (preferred). ï‚·

Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and testing procedures. ï‚·

Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and troubleshooting skills. ï‚·

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. ï‚·

Strong communication and teamwork skills.
