LEGAL ASSOCIATE (CORPORATE)

About the RoleWe are seeking a high-performing Corporate Associate with 5-7 years post-call experience and demonstrable expertise in transactional and advisory work. The ideal candidate will support and lead matters related to mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, regulatory compliance, board meetings and structuring for both local and international clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting and negotiating key corporate/commercial documents, including SPAs, shareholders agreements, JV agreements, investment documentation, etc.
• Managing and conducting legal due diligence exercises.
• Advising on corporate restructurings, business registrations, and compliance with CAC, SEC, CBN, and related regulators.
• Supporting equity/debt financing transactions, particularly with startup and fintech clients.
• Advising clients on corporate governance, board matters, and regulatory strategy.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years post-call legal experience, with at least 3 years in a corporate/commercial law practice.
• Demonstrable experience in M&A, PE/VC, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills; attention to detail is a must.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
• Excellent research, communication, and commercial awareness.
• Track record of leading transactions or supporting senior lawyers with minimal supervision.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cross-border transactions.
• Familiarity with startup/tech, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
• Business development mindset.

Pay: Up to ₦450,000.00 per month
