Mining Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive mine plans for both surface and underground operations.

Design mine layouts, access routes, ventilation systems, and extraction strategies.

Use specialized software (e.g., AutoCAD, MineScape, SURPAC) to model and simulate mining processes.

Analyze geological and geotechnical data to assess the viability of mining sites.

Monitor and evaluate the performance of mining systems to optimize production and minimize waste.

Conduct site inspections and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Prepare project schedules and budgets; monitor expenditures and resource allocation.

Oversee the development, maintenance, and improvement of mine infrastructure.

Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and environmental impact evaluations.

Coordinate reclamation efforts and manage waste disposal according to sustainability standards.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including reports, drawings, and compliance records.

Maintain accurate records of mining activities, performance metrics, and project milestones.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering or a related field..

Professional Engineer (PE) certification is an advantage.

Minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience in mining operations (open-pit and/or underground).

Proven track record of managing mining projects from planning through execution.

Skilled in mining software (e.g., SURPAC, AutoCAD, MineScape).

Strong understanding of mining regulations, safety standards, and best practices.

Familiarity with geotechnical and environmental assessment tools.

Strong leadership, team coordination, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Organizational and time management capabilities, with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to work in remote and physically demanding environments.

Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as project needs demand.
