Mining Surveyor

Responsibilities

Conduct precise underground and surface surveys using GPS, total stations, and other geospatial tools.

Create and update detailed site maps, mine layouts, and 3D models using GIS and design software.

Maintain digital survey databases, including development layouts and production areas.

Assist in mine design, feasibility assessments, and planning proposals.

Identify and document site hazards and environmental impacts.

Advise on land restoration practices post-mining and support regulatory compliance.

Support daily operations by providing accurate survey data and updates.

Guide drilling, blasting, and excavation teams with layout information.

Oversee the use and maintenance of surveying equipment.

Work with cross-functional teams to align survey tasks with operational goals.

Prepare and submit detailed reports on site development and survey outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelors degree in Mine Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, or a related field.

Professional certification in Surveying or Geomatics is an advantage

Minimum 2 years of mine surveying experience, preferably in open pit mining.

Proficient in survey equipment and software: total stations, GPS, GIS, and mapping tools.

Strong knowledge of mining regulations and safety standards.

Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.

Comfortable working in remote and physically demanding environments.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a team or independently with minimal supervision
