SALES ASSOCIATE JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
The Sales Associate plays a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience by engaging customers, understanding their needs, and providing effective solutions. This role is also responsible for achieving sales targets, maintaining store cleanliness, and supporting daily operation
Key Responsibilities
Ø Assisting with Products Selection: Helping customers find items, answering questions, and making recommendations
Ø Handling Transactions: Processing sales, accepting payments, and handling returns and refunds.
Ø Product Knowledge: Familiarity with the products including their features and benefits
Ø Maintaining a well-stocked and organized store
Ø Arranging product displays and ensuring they are attractive and well maintained
Ø Keeping the store tidy and ensuring a clean shopping environment.
Ø Tracking stock levels and assisting with ordering replacements
Ø Contributing to the stores overall sales targets.
Ø Handling customer issues professionally and constructively.
Ø Highlighting promotional items and suggesting upgrades or additional purchases.
Ø Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner and assist them throughout their shopping experience.
Ø Understand and promote the organizations products or services to meet customer needs and drive sales.
Ø Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely, respectful, and efficient manner.
Ø Maintain a thorough understanding of promotions, pricing, and product specifications.
Ø Accurately process sales transactions using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
Ø Assist with inventory counts, stock management, and loss prevention procedures.
Ø Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe store environment.
Ø Provide feedback to management on customer trends, product demand, and operational issues.
Ø Participate in training sessions and team meetings as required
Ø Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Ø Minimum of SSCE/OND; higher qualification is an added advantage.
Ø 1-2 years of experience in sales, retail, or customer service preferred.
Ø Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ø Strong persuasive, negotiation, and upselling abilities.
Ø Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Ø Basic math and cash handling skills.
Ø Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer applications.
Ø Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₦60,000.00 - ₦70,000.00 per month
