Tax Compliance Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax & Compliance Officer to oversee our firms tax obligations and ensure full compliance with regulatory frameworks. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in Nigerian tax laws and capable of managing tax planning strategies and filings across various sectors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file timely tax returns (PAYE, VAT, WHT, CIT, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of account preparation
• Liaise with tax authorities (FIRS, LIRS, etc.) on audits, queries, and reconciliations
• Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and inform management of implications
• Conduct internal tax audits and ensure all tax risks are mitigated
• Develop and implement efficient tax planning strategies for clients
• Maintain documentation for all tax transactions and correspondence
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
Assist clients with TCC (Tax Clearance Certificate) processing and related matters

Qualifications

• B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Very Good Knowledge of Excel
• ICAN/ACCA is a plus
• At least 3 years of hands-on tax compliance experience
• Good knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory obligations
Excellent communication and analytical skills
