HVAC CAD Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled HVAC CAD Technician to support the design, drafting, and coordination of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in CAD software and experience in mechanical drafting, especially in commercial or industrial HVAC projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed HVAC system drawings and layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
• Assist engineers in the preparation of construction and fabrication documents.
• Interpret architectural and engineering drawings to produce coordinated HVAC drawings.
• Ensure drawings comply with local building codes, industry standards, and client specifications.
• Maintain document control, revisions, and drawing logs.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other trades (plumbing, electrical, structural) to resolve conflicts.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback for constructability and efficiency.
Support project managers and field teams with accurate drawings and updates.

Qualifications:

• OND/HND/ BSC in CAD, Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in HVAC drafting or mechanical CAD work.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with Revit MEP is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems and terminology.
• Familiarity with building codes and mechanical design standards.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work under deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities.

Work Environment:

• Office-based with occasional site visits.
• Collaborative team setting with engineers and designers.
May require occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.
