Job Summary

A new and ambitious stockbroking firm in Nigeria is seeking an experienced and visionary Managing Director (MD) to lead its launch and strategic growth. The ideal candidate will drive the firms operational excellence, regulatory compliance, market expansion, and client success. This is a high-impact leadership role for a dynamic professional with deep industry experience and entrepreneurial drive.

Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Leadership

• Define and execute the overall business strategy, goals, and vision.
• Drive market positioning and long-term growth planning.

2. Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with SEC, NGX, and all relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Oversee proper licensing and reporting standards.

3. Operational Oversight

• Manage daily operations including trading, client relations, and risk management.
• Implement policies, systems, and structures for effective service delivery.

4. Business Development

• Develop and maintain relationships with retail and institutional investors.
• Identify and exploit new business and revenue opportunities.

5. Team Leadership

• Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team.
• Foster a results-driven, ethical, and professional culture.

6. Stakeholder Engagement

• Report operational and financial updates to the Board of Directors.
• Maintain transparency and trust with stakeholders.

7. Financial Oversight

• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
• Monitor financial health, profitability, and compliance with capital requirements.

8. Technology & Infrastructure

• Establish modern trading platforms and digital client interfaces.
• Ensure technological competitiveness and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
• Masters degree or MBA is an added advantage
• Minimum of 10 years capital markets experience, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role
• Authorized Clerk of the NGX with proven stockbroking experience
• ACS-qualified (Associate Chartered Stockbroker)
• Must be a SEC-registered Sponsored Individual or eligible for registration
• Excellent knowledge of the Nigerian capital markets landscape and regulatory ecosystem
• Demonstrated ability to lead a startup or greenfield operation
• Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills
