Job Title: Packaging Manager (or Supervisor)

Reports To: Operations Manager / Production DirectorLocation: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Summary

The Packaging Manager is responsible for overseeing all packaging operations for bulk hair and skin care products. This includes ensuring compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and branding guidelines. The role involves supervising a packaging team, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely, cost-effective, and aesthetically aligned packaging. The ideal candidate will leverage previous industry experience to lead and continuously improve all aspects of the packaging process.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily packaging operations for hair and skin care products, including creams, lotions, serums, oils, and cleansers.
• Ensure all packaging complies with regulatory standards and internal quality requirements.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and resolve defects or inconsistencies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all packaging processes.
• Oversee finished goods filling, labeling, coding, packaging, and case sealing procedures in compliance with GMPs, SOPs, and applicable regulations.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure traceability and maintain product integrity.
• Assist in budgeting, production planning, product pricing, and packaging strategy development based on market trends, sales data, and consumer demand.
• Lead and supervise Packaging Associates, promoting a high-performance team environment.
• Develop and manage packaging strategies, including the sourcing of materials and equipment.
• Maintain accurate daily records of packaging activities and ensure proper documentation and transfer of finished goods per company policy.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, Packaging Science, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a packaging role within the cosmetics, food, or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong knowledge of packaging machinery, labeling processes, and materials specific to personal care products.
• Solid understanding of GMP, ISO standards, and industry regulatory compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₦250,000.00 - ₦350,000.00 per month
