Job Title: Pig Farm Assistant

Location: Osegere, Ibadan-Ife Expressway, Ibadan

Reports to: Farm Supervisor

Job Overview

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Pig Farm Assistant to join our clients team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the daily care, feeding, health monitoring, and general management of pigs. This role is hands-on and essential for ensuring the health, growth, and welfare of the livestock while maintaining high farm standards for hygiene, biosecurity, and animal welfare.

Key Responsibilities:

• Feed pigs according to specified diets and schedules.
• Monitor pigs for signs of illness, injury, or abnormal behavior and report findings to the Farm supervisor.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and supplements as directed.
• Assist with farrowing (birthing) processes and care of piglets.
• Clean and disinfect pens, farrowing houses, and feeding equipment to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Assist with weighing, sorting, and moving pigs as needed for sale, transfer, or treatment.
• Record daily activities, including feeding logs, health observations, and treatment records.
• Implement biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of diseases.
• Assist in humane handling, loading, and unloading of animals.
• Follow all animal welfare standards and guidelines.
• Carry out routine maintenance of farm facilities and equipment.
• Repair minor damages in pens, fences, or farm structures.
• Perform other general farm tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• OND/HND/Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Veterinary Technology, or a related field.
• Knowledge of PIG FARM operations is VERY IMPORTANT.
• Basic understanding of animal welfare, biosecurity, and farm hygiene.
• Previous experience working with livestock, particularly pigs, is VERY essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly.

Pay: ₦50,000.00 - ₦70,000.00 per month
