Security Engineer

About the Role

As a Security Engineer at Computan, youll play a pivotal role in safeguarding our IT infrastructure and ensuring resilience against evolving threats. Youll take ownership of implementing security controls, improving system defenses, and supporting the business with practical and proactive security solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, monitor, and improve security measures across networks, systems, and applications.
• Design and maintain our cybersecurity architecture in line with best practices.
• Identify and document system security risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and support security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and authentication systems.
• Set up and manage monitoring tools to detect and respond to security incidents.
• Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security into product and infrastructure development.
• Train employees on information security awareness and secure practices.
• Support in shaping and evolving the companys security policies and protocols.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in information or system security engineering.
• Strong understanding of operating system, network, and database security.
• Hands-on experience with security technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, log management).
• Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Bachelors degree in computer science or related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CEH, CompTIA Security+) are an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₦600,000.00 - ₦750,000.00 per month
