The Opportunity

Were looking for a Solar and BESS Design Engineer to join our growing team in Lagos. Youll play a key role in designing energy solutions that power everything from telecom towers to cold storage infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone excited by real-world problem-solving, energy innovation, and working in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and simulate solar PV and hybrid BESS systems for commercial and industrial clients
• Prepare engineering documentation including sizing, layouts, and single-line diagrams
• Run performance modelling using HOMER Pro, PVsyst, or other simulation tools
• Develop procurement briefs, system specifications, and BOMs
• Support financial feasibility analysis of projects (over time, and subject to interest + aptitude, on-the-job training will be provided on advanced financial modelling and deal structuring to support transition to financial engineering)
• Work closely with the technical, project, and commercial teams to optimise solutions
Help build internal design processes and standards as we scale

What Were Looking For

• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in solar PV and BESS design
• Strong working knowledge of HOMER Pro, PVsyst, or similar simulation tools
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Fluent in English; French is an advantage
• Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and drive work independently
• Open-minded, resourceful, and eager to learn
• Experience in a startup or scale-up in the energy or climate tech sector is beneficial
Strong academic background in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field
