SunFi is leveraging its leadership experience as a Distributed Energy Provider (DEP) to build a Clean Energy FinTech platform that helps Distributed Solar Energy Providers scale their clean energy business to millions of consumers in Nigeria and eventually other parts of the world. SunFi provides Solar Energy installers and their consumers access to Solar payment plans, solution design & analysis tools, and supply chain partnerships that help catalyze the transition to clean energy.

About the Role:

As a Senior Product Manager, you will own, build and iterate on SunFis platform - bringing our ideas to life across every use case, and user experience. You will be saddled with the responsibility of understanding the users needs, market needs, and business goals. You will have the ability to think strategically, act pragmatically, and have the tenacity, energy, and passion to innovate and implement change within the time and resource constraints of a quickly growing startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive the product vision and high-level technical concepts to bridge the gap between technology, the people, and the business processes it supports
• Own and lead all aspects of the established agile team: writing user stories and acceptance criteria, backlog grooming, triage and prioritization, demos, end-to-end product execution, and cross-functional leadership.
• Communicate product direction, progress, delivery, launch, and mitigation plans to all relevant team members and business partners.
• Accountable for the SunFi Product KPIs Metrics.
• Strive to deeply understand user needs by conducting user research and identifying opportunities and pain points. And advocate for user needs through the cycle of building products.
• Provide oversight across the different aspects of our Product workstream: Vision, Strategy, Execution, Delivery & Releases, Quality, Marketing, Insights, Partnerships, and Innovation.
• Define, document, and drive roadmaps, project plans, and precise product specifications that consistently deliver quality products for your customers.
• Work with a team of engineers and designers to discover solutions to customer pain points, and build and launch products for local and global businesses. This would ensure the team can deliver a scalable architecture that not just meets current needs but considers future growth scenarios

• Ensure successful product launches by working cross-functionally with marketing, merchant success, sales, operations, legal, and compliance teams.
• Communicate requirements to the design and engineering leads, and maintain communication between the product design and engineering units as it relates to the needs of the business
• Regularly sit with Leadership and other stakeholders (User Services, Finance & Growth) to discover the customers needs
• Train or provide product reviews for User Services, Growth & Finance team members on new features
• Prioritize features and functionality to meet business goals and user needs.
• Use data to drive product decisions, defining success metrics and measuring results against them
• Provide product review and guidance of features and delivery timeframes

Leadership and People Development

• Support efforts to collaborate with the companys leadership to train SunFi talent when needed
• Supports the development of SunFi and the Product Team OKRs and KPIs, including individual KPIs within the team
• A focus on value creation for the company, not task orientation
• Display and exercise business leadership practices within the company and with stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to junior & mid-level Product team members.
• Support the recruitment, management, mentorship, and development of the team to innovatively and competently deliver the results required of the team.
• Responsible for performance management, training needs analysis, and optimization of the Product team
• Evaluate, and where possible, build thought leadership within SunFi that enhances the company culture and values
• Conduct weekly informal check-ins with all direct reports. These are unstructured scheduled meetings in which you and your report can discuss areas of your interest, professional or personal. Emphasis should be placed on relationship-building
• Runs meetings on the Product team with the coaching and support of your Manager, and the Head of the department
• Advocates for the SunFi culture including ensuring team members use video as much as possible during meetings. You must be exemplary
• Provide mentorship and coaching to junior Product Management team members.

Reporting

• Responsible for structuring and communicating key feedback from customers (Providers & Consumers) to Technology, User Services, Platform Finance, and other stakeholders
• Responsible for mastering the SunFi Technology Platform
• Responsible for reports on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis on performance, strategies, OKRs, KPIs, developments, challenges, and other key requirements
• Responsible for recommending and leveraging the right tools for reports and developing insights

• Strong analytical skills and fluency with data, with the ability to use a variety of tools to gather and synthesize information (experience with Google Analytics).
• Good knowledge of Product Management tools like Jira, Pivotal Tracker, Asana, Monday, etc
• Good knowledge of Product Analytics & User Behaviour tools like Mixpanel, Hotjar

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Business, etc.)
• Minimum of 5 - 7 years of proven work experience, and at least 3 years of supervisory experience managing a team of at least 3 people
• Experience with Fintech products: Added Advantage
• Start-Up or Fast Paced environment experience
