General Manager (FMCG)

Job Summary

•Strategic Planning and Leadership: Develop and implement business strategies to achieve factory goals and objectives.

•Operations Management: Oversee production planning, quality control, supply chain management, and maintenance.

•Financial Management: Manage budgets, costs, and investments to ensure factory profitability.

•Human Resources Management: Lead a multifunctional staff and direct overall manufacturing activities of the company including purchasing, materials management, maintenance, tooling, manufacturing engineering, production scheduling, planning, warehouse, quality assurance, safety of plant operations and marketing/sales.

•Quality and Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Duties and responsibilities

•Provide inspired leadership for the company

•Oversee the creation and management of budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing for areas of direct responsibility.

•Develop and implement innovative strategies to streamline operations.

•Develop processes that will maximize safety, quality and productivity.

•Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed expectations.

•Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining highest quality standards.

Prepare weekly operation reports and submit them to key decision-makers.

Collaborate with quality control managers to establish and execute quality control processes and ensure highest quality of production.

•Ensure that factory machinery/equipment are always in best working order.

•General management of multiple departments with a focus on ensure smooth operations.

•Analyze data, develop metrics and strategies to improve profitability, accountability, and revenue.

•Create a culture of continuous improvement and problem solving to drive performance and productivity improvement.

•Research and resolve reported errors and initiate efforts to prevent reoccurrence by addressing root cause.

•Provide departmental and general operations update report productivity, process, and efficiency reporting.

•Establish prevailing performance standards that set high expectations for quality and efficiency.

•Ensure the training and mentoring of managers and other employees.

•Be responsible for production input and output, product quality and on-time delivery to customers.

•Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.

•Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.

•Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions to timely resolve any production issues.

•Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff.

•Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.

•Ensure plant safety procedures.

•Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.

•Address employees issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements.

•Influence and learn from subordinates.

•Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.

•Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

•Masters Degree (or at the minimum Bachelors degree) in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management, Logistics, or related field.

•Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) are advantageous.

Required Work Experience & Knowledge

•Minimum 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least proven 5 years work experience as a General Manager especially in the manufacturing and hygiene and baby products space.

•Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing teams.

•Detailed knowledge of plant and manufacturing operations.

•Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).

•Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.

•Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes.
